Some projects completed!

Here we are at another Met Monday hosted by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch.
She always has great ideas and makeovers to share, so be sure to go by her site.

I wanted to have a basket of daisies on my front door like Susan, but I noticed her front door is red and mine is black, so I would need more color. I found this bargain for $3 at GW. It was my starting point.

I added some red flowers and more white ones. (I had a big bunch I had gotten - $2 - on sale 90% off at Joanne's back in the fall!)

Then I hung it on the door, and I think it perks up the door! I definitely needed the red and white.

I have been wanting to paint these GW finds and an old spool and candlestick that had been in my basement for years! Finally I had some free time and it wasn't raining! Here's the BEFORE:

Here's the AFTER. Not sure what I'm going to do with them yet, but I like them better.

I have this silk greenery and I plan to remove the sqaure wooden container and put it in the newly painted black iron urn.....that is, after I figure out how to get the tree out of the box!!! It is really stuck!

This urn looks really good - MUCH better than in this picture! It will be a nice base for the plant.

Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict and I frequently go GW Hunting and were lamenting that we don't often find much. On second thought, maybe we do. Everything on this chest (except the red transfer plate) came from GW or a yard sale.
These are also some GW gems for my white collection.
Last week I was thrilled to find these ballerina dresses for $1 each at a garage sale. My four little granddaughters have already been enjoying them at my house.
Be sure to stop by Susan's at Between Naps on the Porch and see what she and all the other participants have been up to! Happy Monday! Linda

When we were young we always had a costume box to play in and I loved it! To this day I take ballet lessons (I am 52) and I am sure it is because of the lovely costumes we dressed up in. As we all learned from A Chorus Line - Everything is beautiful at the ballet.

Your wreath looks great and definitely a great accent to your black door! I had to take a saw (literally) to get a silk plant out--good luck!

I love all of your GW finds. The wreath looks so beautiful with the additional of the flowers. Red is my favorite color, so I always love it added to anything. Seeing your old bobbins reminds me that I've got a large collection of them in my attic. I need to break them out again.

Ok wait a minute while I work up some sympathy for the lack of finds that you and Debbie find at GW - waiting, still waiting - nope, Can't find any. LOL I think you two girls are constantly scoring all kinds of great treasures. Now mw on the other hand - I have almost given up ours in soooo bad. So I am coming down to shop with you! :-D I can't wait to see the tree in the urn, it will be perfect. Hopefully it will be next week's MetMon. Blessings, Barb

It looks like you have really good luck at Goodwill...you've got some great finds there!

Since I started blogging, spray paint (white and black) has become my new best friend! Love it!

You did a good job on your makeovers. I shop with a vision of a can of spray paint, too. It makes all the difference.

OK, that wreath particularly rocks! What a great metamorphosis. You've inspired me - I'll have to get around to doing something for my front door :-)

I always like the reveal after a little paint. I use to get the same results when I'd wear makeup but, now at my age I require Spackle.
The plant is going to look great in that urn. It doesn't look like a hard transplant.
Let's chat about the *white* ceramics from GW...I never find anything like those at the Good Will. They're phenomenal!

Sweet wishes,
Sara
