Laundry Room + 2

Welcome to another Met Monday hosted by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch.
This is such a great time to get some good ideas form lots of great decorators out there in Bloggerville.

Today I have 3 brief makeovers:

First, my humble laundry room was suffering from the blahs. This is the door (that we never use) to the deck and backyard. The washer & dryer are on the left, and laundry sink and shelving are to the right.
Unfortunately, in order to take these pictures, I have to back into the hall wall, so there is not enough room to get a full photo. I decided that a garden theme would be a good thing in the laundry room, so I have a pair of French "Jardin" prints and added a hanging basket.

On the right, is a different "Jardin" print along with a black bucket that has "Paris" on it in gold letters.
Then someone out in Bloggerville put a cute lamp on their dryer and I decided to copy that!

I like this iron topper - sort of raises the ceiling and the eye.

Close up of "le Jardin"
Now, what can I put on this bare space between the dryer and the cabinet? Or is that over the top?! My hubby can't understand why I want to decorate the laundry room, but, hey, I'm in it a lot!

Especially with these two adorable little grandies! What are they watching? Another makeover.

Makeover #2......Take some Pillsbury sugar cookies, roll them out, and use 2 containers of sprinkles to makeover 10 cookies! Oops, ran out of red, have to go with the rolly polly multicolored balls!

Don't you dare miss a spot!!
And now, makeover #3 - This is what the twins were watching - God's makover of our backyard with beautiful, restful, peaceful snow on Sunday!

Have a wonderful day, and don't forget to drop by Susan's at Between Naps on the Porch and see what wonderful ideas she has, as well as check out who else is participating. Linda

Great makeover of the laundry room. It's amazing how just a few small items can make a space so much more inviting. Now I have to admit the cookies are my favorite makeover lol. And your grandies are adorable! As far as the snow, I'll admire it from afar, please don't feel the need to send it so that we can experience it haha. Kathy

How did you guys get so much snow that stuck??? Ours is all melted! You'd think we lived in another state! The laundry room pics look great, and how cute are E & E in the aprons? It's always fun at Nina's house!

Your grands are the cutest!

Do you still have snow? Our has just about all melted.

Love your laundry room. If I tried putting a lamp on my dryer, it would probably vibrate onto the floor. Love the idea.

I like what you did with your laundry room, especially the ironwork above the door and the sweet lamp on the dryer. I still trying to get my laudry done, much less decorated. Good job. Your winter scene and children baking cookies is lovely.

I love what you've done with your laundry room. You know, one of those lettered signs would look fantastic in that space above your washer and dryer. I've seen several that are "laundry" inspired.

Great transformation of the laundry room. I think a sign would be great in that space. There are so many great ones out there.

Linda,
Those grandbabies of yours are absolutely adorable. Wouldn't it be awesome if we lived near one another and could get the two sets of twin grandbabies together to play? Grandparenthood changes everything, doesn't it?

Love your laundry room make over. And those two precious little girls are doing a very good job of covering every single inch of the cookies with sprinkles! What fun! I must admit even though I am so sick of winter I could scream, your pictures of the fresh snow is very pretty. I'm ready for garden pics though!

Wow! 3 makeovers in one post! Isn't it the truth-they have to every spot of the cookie (and the cookie sheet) covered with sprinkles. What fun they are having, and what a wonderful grandmother they have to let them create this memory. Your laundry room looks so pretty. I don't think it's over the top at all to hang something over the dryer! Go for it! Beautiful snow pix. laurie

I cross-stitched a simple piece years ago that pictures a washing machine, a basket of clothes, and a saying that reads "This laundry room has all the latest dirt". I have it hanging in my laundry area. I like to think it gives the space a little personality. Love what you have done with yours.

How wonderful to be in a cozy warm kitchen baking fragrant cookies with your GC as you watch the ultimate decorator make over the landscape.

Love the laundry room makeover. You are right we do spend alot of time in there. Your sweeties are darling. I love the pic of the backs of their heads as they are working sooooo hard on those cookies. My granddaughter went to a cookie class this past weekend and did the same thing with those sprinkles. You can never have enough sprinkles. Thanks for sharing. Maryrose

Morning, Linda! Oh, I LOVE your laundry room makeover! I love the garden theme you're using. I need a new door and want one just like yours! I need some light in there! I'm like you - I want to hang something on that space between my appliances and the wall too! I've seen some folks put up little shelves or pictures! Let me know if you decide to put something there.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Hi Linda! ;) It was so "wonderful" to meet you today! I regret that so much was going on that we missed getting to chat. I'll definitely get to see you again in the future, I'm sure. About your Laundry room...I love it! Of course, it's got some French goin on., and I'm all about that. The pics are super., love the green in them. The lamp on the dryer is such a neat idea too. You asked what you could put over your dryer area., what about this: Create your own sign and have someone write it in French in calligraphy that says: If you can't take the heat, stay out of the Laundry room! ;) Look forward to seeing you again... Blessings...Love your little grandbabies making the cookies., (I'm even more about G.babies) sigh... ;) ~CC Catherine

Linda, all three of your makeovers are fabulous! the laundry room looks good; mine is in a stone walled dungeon in the basement of my house (I am not kidding).

But your little grand daughters.. oh my goodness! Those cookies. Oh, you make me long to have little kids around again. No grandkids yet, and my own kids are old and used up by now. :-)

Loved this post, thanks!

Hello Linda! Found your blog thru Susan's Met Monday. You live in a beautiful part of the country! My husband lived in Atlanta for a couple of years before we were married. I loved it down there! Stone Mountain area is gorgeous! Don't you just love this snow just in time for Spring?! Wish I had a laundry room to fix up! Just a closet! We have some of the same followers I noticed! God Bless! Lauralu :)

I love your laundry room, it is so pretty. I think the garden theme is perfect for that room since there is a door looking outside. I have seen those prints before & have always admired them.

Your little granddaughters are just precious!! Those are the cutest photos of them. I love all of them, but the one of them looking outside is so, so cute. You should enlarge that photo, frame it & hang it on the wall.

You have just inspired me to make my laundry room my next project!!

Nice makeover of your laundry room! Your little added touches certainly do make it inviting and pretty. That is quite a compliment for a laundry room! I agree, we spend so much time there why not make it pretty. Your grandchildren are adorable too. What a sweet picture! Thanks, Paula
