My Priceless Originals

This is opening day for "What's on Your Wall" Wednesday, hosted by Barb at Grits and Glamour. It's a great idea and I am looking forward to seeing some of your wall treasures.

Remember when your kids were in pre-school and you saved all their art and thought it was the greatest thing in the world? Well, turns out my daughter really is a wonderful artist (yes, she's the one who likes to rearrange my house). All the pictures below are done in pencil on white or cream paper. They are all things she has seen and drawn. (Disclaimer - I wish I could have taken better pictures, but I couldn't figure out how to get enough light without using my flash, so all you great photographers need to overlook my amateur shots.) Oh, one more thing, all the pictures - except the large vase of flowers - have Scripture verses on them. See if you can spot them. Oops, another thing, the large vase of flowers was done when she was in high school and the rest were done in her 20's.

The verse for the 3 girls is "There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Prov.18:24

The boy and girl "A sweet friendship refreshes the soul." Prov. 27:9

This picture was drawn from an ad in a magazine. (This photo does not do justice to the detail and shading.)

The verse for the 3 boys is "A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Prov. 18:24

The little girl walking away - "Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God." Matt. 5:8
(Sorry, the flash was really showing off here!)

OK, I meant to turn this picture, but was in a hurry and didn't, so just turn your head counter clockwise to 9:00 and you'll get the picture : )
The verse is "All men are like grass and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall but the word of the Lord stands forever." I Peter 1:24, 25

You know, if we had a fire and I had 1 minute, I'd probably have to grab all of these.
Get the picture?!

Please be sure and stop by Barb's at gritsandglamour and see all the other people who are participating in opening day for "What's on Your Wall Wednesday". Thanks, Barb!

Your daughter's art is beautiful. I also love your table with the folding part. We knew a gentleman years ago that had one, and I always loved it.
