I am thankful

Last week I gave my daughter-in-law a darling little top I had bought for Grandie #1 (4 yrs.old). It was one of those nice finds - marked down from $25 to $4.

I was in another room and overheard my grandie say, "Mommy, what is that?" Mommy, "That's for you....Nana got it for you." G#1, "Oh, I just loooove it! It's so pretty!." (Imagine giggles like bubbling water in the voice!)

As I came into the room, she said, "Oh, Nana, I love it....thank you!...I'm going to put it in my room right now!...and up the stairs she marched to put it carefully in her room.

I was struck by her sheer joy and heartfelt gratitude for such a small gift.

Two days later a friend recounted that the wife of his friend was diagnosed with cancer in November, and they buried her a week ago. He encouraged us to be thankful and appreciate every day with the people we love.

So, I ask myself, do I have that same spirit (like giggles and bubbles!) of thankfulness to God for all His blessings - both big and small? Am I thankful every day?

I want to, because I am thankful for much.....faith, family, friends, freedom, sight, hearing, touch, taste, the beauty of the earth, laughter, hope, and so much more.......I know you can add to this list.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Blessings, Linda
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever. Ps. 107:1

"Out of the mouths of babes", it is said, and I think it is so true. Children have so much to teach, as well as a lot to learn. Every day is an adventure to a young child. They have the insight to see the beauty when and adult just sees a common flowering weed. Thankfully God sees the beauty in all of his "human weeds".

What a wonderful reminder to stop and thank the Lord for everything big and small. He blesses us all everyday in so many ways. Thanks, I will stop and appreciate more often and be thankful. Marty

She sure is thankful for that gift - I haven't been able to get her out of it all week! (And since it's so comfy and snuggly, I'm thankful, too.) Love you!

Is there anything better than the pure, unadulterated love of a child? For that matter, the sound of a child's laughter? I think not. Thanks for a lovely post. Kathy
