Ugly Duckling Makeover

Recently I saw this solid wooden basket
and knew that it needed an update.

How about this poor little ugly duckling:

I removed the wooden duck, using a screwdrive and hammer
to chisel her away.
Debbie at Confessions  and I saw a two-toned wooden tote recently the Queen
and she suggested I two-tone my basket.
I already had some AS chalk paint, so I used
the French Linen on the outside and Old White inside.

Then I filled it with some faux maidenhair fern.

And experimented with books, apples, pomegranates, and dried hydrangeas.
(Or maybe some geraniums in the near future!)

It's rather large and looks soooo much better lighter and duck-less!
Not bad for $1.91 at GW, huh?!
Blessings,
Linda

Great makeover, Linda! Love the two tone colors. Definitely not bad for an under $2.00 GW find!

Great find and you turned the ugly duckling into a swan. Nice paint colors, too. :)
