Getting rid of some red - de-redifying

I love red.
I've had several red rooms in our home.
But I'm changing things up a little.
It started with my family room window treatments...
then the kitchen.....now something in the laundry room.
I yanked the (really old!)  geraniums out of my GW basket.....

and replaced them with some left-over hydrangeas
and some great burlap wired ribbon that
Debbie @Confessions of a Plate Addict spied when we were thrifting recently.
She got some and I did, too, 'cause you never know
when you might need it!

I hung it over the water connections for the washer.
Isn't that just an ugly place that needs to be covered?!
It ties in with my French garden theme laundry room.
Love my "very special tree" on the right.
It's my handprint with the grandies in the tree house, etc.!

Now I'd like to neutralize my downstairs bath.
See the red?

I've always loved this bathroom
and the Provence/Tuscan feel of it.
But I'm feeling the need for light and simple...
Does that happen to you?
Blessings,
Linda

Love the hydrangeas and basket and the clever way you hid the water connection.

Your basket with the hydrangeas is darling...what a neat idea, Linda!

I love your bathroom as is, but I know how it feels to want to lighten up...something about winter and wanting a nice clean slate to decorate with.

Happy Weekend!

Jane

Great redo on the basket, Linda! Love that burlap wired ribbon. I've been wanting to do a frame wreath for my front door and that would work well for it. One of the best things about moving was that I was able to do a lighter look in our home. I had lots of color in our old house but was really wanting to lighten up. I'm really happy with it and if I want to bring in red, I can {or any other color} just in accessories. I like having that option.

I am wanting to do some of the same thing by adding more white accents. Still love my red but want to lighten up things a bit. Cute basket in the laundry room to hide the plugs. I have the same thing.

Love the look of your basket with the hydrangeas. And yes, I do understand getting tired of red. I'm feeling the same way lately. Starting to lighten things up a bit around here. Can't wait to see how you change up your bathroom!

What a difference your new basket makes just by switching out the flowers. Very pretty!

Linda, I'm the same way. I had a lot of red and have been gradually going more neutral. Also, I love the hydrangeas!

I have some burlap ribbon that I bought and need to find some fun ways to use. Your little basket is darling. I love the mural in the bathroom... go neutral but maybe keep that... It's so sweet! Just my input.
