What a deal!
A little chair with French legs
for $1.91!
I knew I could paint away the blue
and the flowers.....
After one coat of Heirloom White
it's much improved!
Since the back was out,
I added some burlap
which I stamped with a fleur-de-lis.

Aren't the legs beautiful?!

I tried placing a plant
on the chair.

then some ceramic flowers.....

how about a clock????
Debbie @ Confessions of a Plate Addict
got this at a market in Strasbourg
when she lived there.
A French doll in a French chair!
I didn't fool you....
you knew it was a doll's chair all along!
And now for a decorating question.....
And now for a decorating question.....
These tired, brown kitchen chairs are 41 years old.
I have been thinking of painting them black for a loooooooong time!
The base of this table is painted black.

But recently, I have been seeing a lot of white kitchen chairs.
So I brought in the dining room chairs just to get a look at the color.
Hmmmmmmm......
Whaddaya think?
Paint 'em black, white or leave them stained?
The kitchen cabinets are glazed, and the island is painted black.

Thanks for taking the time to leave an opinion.
I really appreciate it!!
Hope you have a wonderful week!

lol lol Too funny, Linda! I love the way it turned out! And the little Alsacienne looks perfect there...although I think I like the Tour Eiffel best! As for the chairs, I'm voting for black, having seen that fabulous chair that David did! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
I think they would look great black or whit. The little chair is too cute with the burlap. I am thinking of painting my dining room brown chairs yellow. Maybe we will both be painting chairs soon.
I love the white. I really like the burlap seat too! Either way they will look cute
I think the chairs would look great painted black. I love the style of your kitchen chairs I have one that I purchased from a thrift store. Your kitchen is so pretty!! Have a great week, Martina
Oh I love the idea of black. I think it would be fabulous. Your little dolls chair is just toooooooo cute. You did a great job fixing it up. Hugs, Marty
That little chair is adorable. And the price was certainly right! As far as your kitchen goes (it's lovely by the way) I'd go with the black chairs. Kat
Linda, you did have me wondering at first. ;-)
Cute chair. I've a soft spot for little chairs, be they for dolls or little children. This one is perfect for the sweet doll from France.
As for the dining room chairs, I vote either white or black. ~ sarah
I love that little doll chair re-do Linda!
And I love the doll sitting on it, so charming!
And I love the chairs you brought in, they look perfect there!
Hugs,
Cindy
Are those rush seats in the chairs? Very Frenchy looking. I vote for the black too. And then maybe you can modge podge or decoupage some French sheet music or French book pages on the front of the ladder backs. :)
I just did a foot stool in black. come on over and see.
Love your kitchen too. xoxo
I like the light look of the white chairs, but maybe not white-white, but the color of your cabinet glaze. Black would work too, considering the table base...Either would be a nice fresh look!
I say paint them black...they would tie in with your kitchen better. Thanks for coming to my party:)
Blessings,
Linda
Either black or white would be beautiful for your chairs. I like the Eiffel tower on your gorgeous new chair the best. I just love it!
I'm voting black. Love your little chair!
Have a great day!
You had me fooled, I thought it was a child's chair. Love the transformation.
I say paint the chairs white, but if the base of the table is black then you might want to paint them black or paint the base white to go with the white chairs! LOL, are you confused!
hugs
Sissie
This chair is adorable you did a great job!
I would choose white for the chairs but I just love all white!
what a sweet little chair! I love the chairs white but if your table is black - go with the black! I know it will look wonderful.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hi Linda!
When I first saw those French legs I immediately thought of my old Gran ... she had the most bandy knees you ever did see! LOL! You did a great makeover and I like the little dolls sitting there.
You know I think I rather like the white chairs there in your dining room.

That little chair is adorble. Luckly little doll to have such a cute sitting place. About the chairs, I'd say black since your table base is black and it looks like you have a black island?? Can't wait to see what you decide.
