I'm sure you've noticed the trend
over the last couple of years
to simplify the colors
in bookcases.
But, what do you really think?
Here is a "before" pic with some color.
Here is the "after",
having turned all the books around
so that you see the pages
instead of the edges.
After looking at my pics,
I think I need to simplify more...
too much stuff!
So, the question is -
Do you prefer the color of book bindings
or
the neutrality of the pages?
What do you think?

Oh, I've got to brag....
my daughter has opened an etsy shop
with her beautiful appliquéd t-shirts for children.
(She also makes gorgeous tote bags!)
Here is her link:

I love the zebra monogram.
My little grandie is wearing the shirt
with black pants that have a zebra ruffle on the bottom -
sassy!

How about a name.......

Thanks for letting us know about Miss Molly Mac. I have a grandbaby arriving soon and will be in the market for some cute little outfits!
I understand the trend to simplify bookcases, but to turn the books backwards to me is just totally ridiculous.
Love your daughters'designs.
Linda, I'm a fan of the spines showing. Guess I'm not too trendy. ;-)
Your daughter's designs are adorable.

cute designs!
i'd prefer the colorful side of books to show.thats a lot easier to find the book u want to read.
Those are adorable, Linda. Good luck to your daughter on her new shop. Personally, I like warm colors so I prefer seeing the book bound but the white looks nice, bright and clean....Christine
OMG Linda, that's sacrilege! You've gotta show the beautiful spines of the books!
Those Tee's are gorgeous, your daughter should do well with them.
Warmest Hugs,

Hi Again Linda ... I think he's a pea pod bear, I love him! Thanks for stopping by.
Your bookcases are lovely either way.
I love the tee's. So cute!
Hi Linda, Just wanted to pop over to say I like the changes you're making in your bookcases. I think if you use the books both ways, it would add a lot of interest. You could turn the pages out (spines in) on a short stack of books on one shelf, then reverse the look on another shelf. You can do the same thing when you stack them vertically.
Did you happen to see my bookcases in THIS recent post? Although I didn't use the books with their spines in, you can see how I accessorized the shelves. They're not pared down, however! *grin*
Looking forward to seeing it all when you're done.
:-) Sue
