Not a Frumpy Old Secretary any more

I've had this secretary
for about 34 years!
She is old.....and beginning to look a little frumpy.
I was tired of her darkness.
I (very briefly) considered painting her white
(Don't freak out, sister-in-law!),
but she is old and in beautiful condition......
just frumpy.
So dear daughter gave her a new outfit:

I like the light colored tray propped up against
the dark cubbies.
Yes, the cubbies are cute, but too dark to see.

She filled the sheleves with silver on the top
(easier to see in real life),
white edges of books on 2nd shelf,
and my angel collection on 3rd shelf...
everything reflecting light.

I like this vignette....
D moved a magnolia wreath from another room
and added a monogram being used elsewhere.

True confession,
I was ready to put the secretary in the basement. Really.
But Daughter revived her to live another day upstairs!

I'm really liking this.
Have you revived any furniture lately?
Blessings,
Linda

Linda, I've long wanted a secretary for our home, but just haven't found the right one. It needs to be small. I like the new look! Another idea is to keep the door open. Please don't send her to the basement. LOL

I think your secretary and mine must be "cousins". Mine looks so much like your. I really like how you gave it a new look and turning the books around really lightens the interior up. I like the tray hiding the cubbies, too.
Happy Easter.
