PB Copy Cats & Turkey Love!

I've been wanting to make one of these pillows like they sell at Pottery Barn for a year,
but just got around to it!
So easy......one GW sweater ($3)
cut and sewn together and filled with an insert I already had.

This is the back of the pillow, but the front of the sweater.  I used the finished front and changed out the buttons (some old ones I found in my button jar) to secure the pillow.  I think the back of the pillow is cute and sassy with its buttons and pockets.

I found a $3 GW cable knit sweater in a gorgeous red
and made this pillow using a down insert
that I already had.
This sweater was even easier because it was a crew neck pullover.
I just cut off the sleeves and across the top to even it out.
Then stitched 'er up.

Now, what to do with the sleeves from the 2 sweaters????
Daughter suggested a scarf.
Brilliant!
I just sewed the sleeves together at the openings,
and voilà!
2 adorable, warm scarves!

Not wanting to waste anything.....
I finished off the edges of the
hood on the cream colored sweater.
As soon as I add a pom-pom,
it will be a cute and warm winter hat with scarf attached
for a granddaughter! (or me!)
So, 2 pillows, 2 scarves and a cute hat for $6!!!

Daughter and Daughter-in-law made the cutest things for
the kids' Thanksgiving table.
Check out Mr. Turkey.
He was so cute that the kids just gobbled him up
(no pun intended!).

Daughter made these acorns.....
Nutter Butter Cookies with chocolate kisses on top!

And pilgrim hats.....
Large marshmallows sitting on fudge striped cookies.
Then chocolate glaze and buckle added.
Too cute.
You can bet we had no trouble getting the kids to eat!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving
and are enjoying the beginning of
the Christmas Season.
Hope you are too!
Blessings!
Linda

There is a lot of talent in your family, Linda. You really did a nice job with the pillows...they looks so comfy and you used up every bit of that white sweater!!

I am soooo loving your pillows, and I will tell you - your creativity is amazing. I think I love the "sweater arm" scarfs as much as I do the pillows. LOL I gotta remember that. Funny you should mention cable-knit sweaters. I went shopping today for sweaters to take to my trip to England and came up empty handed. Maybe I should give up the department store hunt and just head over to GW. I certainly like the price. :)
Love your cute little Turkey. Hope it was a blessed day for you.

Gosh, Linda, you certainly got your monies worth out of those sweaters! : ) That's so great! Love the scarves and the idea of the hat. I saw pillows like this recently at ~ of all places ~ one of the grocery/home/electronics stores here. They were on sale but nowhere near what you paid to make these!
