The French Accent.
Why do we love all things French?
Be it the French Twist
French Fry
French Braid
French Toast
(which I had this morning for breakfast!)
etc.
The French Connection seems to be strong and attractive!
In looking around my house this morning, I was amazed at the French Influence
that exists here. I started taking pics and had to stop. I look like an addict!
For starters, in the kitchen I have my "Bon Appétit" sign!
(Serious French lovers, it is SO irritating that the accent is missing over the "e".
Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict and I lament over that constantly!)
Little French ads purchased from the bouquinistes along the Seine in Paris
are in the kitchen by the pantry.
A favorite poster by Monet on the coast of the Atlantic by the back door.
Also by the back door.
More French ads.
A favorite - Guy Buffet lithograph of a café in Provence.
Love the clothing, berets, lace collar etc.
Another Guy Buffet lithograph at Hôtel Mistral.
Love the men playing boules!
Some scenes from Mont Blanc at Chamonix!
The laundry room - my setting for my French Garden!
I love this tin wall-hanging on enamelware.
A friend gave it to me....she had no idea what
it said, but loved the French and knew I would, too.
Love using framed black & whites from trips.
Fun, nubby, French postage stamp pillows.
(and a toile pillow I made some time ago.)
The oldest thing I own - a French
book from 1775 bought from a
bouquiniste along the Seine.
Some old French books (turned outward)
from a former student's parent. Nice
texture under the finial.
The ever-popular French writing on fabric.
A little "franglais" - French & English.
Guess what - I've got more, but this is insane.
I didn't realize how strong the French influence is in my decorating.
I'm going to stop for now.
I think I'm an official "French-a-holic"!
Blessings to you!
Linda

Lovely touches you have throughout your home, Linda! I was starting to get nervous that I might have caused this train of thought to take off! : ) I love that harlequin pocket with the stamped clothes pins - perfect for a laundry room.
Linda all of your French touches are divine, it is a way of life!!
I understand because I am part French!!

Hi Linda! Oh, everything is so beautiful! I love all of your artwork and those pillows! Those little wooden clothespins are darling in the tin!
Now you'll be riding around on your bike, with a cute little beret on your tiny head, sweater tied around your neck and a long loaf of homemade bread under your arm! :)
Be a Frenchy sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Hi Linda! Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog today! In answer to your questions; I stenciled the No.3 on that stool. For the Mod Podge technique, go to my July posts and look for "French Flower Pots". I gave the entire tutorial there. It ended up being quite the popular post! lol! Have fun making them - and let me know if you have any questions! :)
