It's snowing down south
and I mean down in the deep south!
Between 9:10pm and 9:40pm last night we got 3 inches of snow.
This morning there are 5 1/2 to 7 inches of snow,
and it's still falling!

A blanket of white everywhere!
Temperatures won't be above freezing till Wednesday.
Our county has 2 snow plows and 8 trucks.
And we're in a big metro country.
Stop your laughing, all my blogging friends in the midwest and north!

Schools, Banks, Businesses, Doctors' Offices, etc.
All closed.
until Wednesday.
I baked a pot of chili, and am going to put potatoes in the oven.

Hearty food that can be heated up in the fireplace
in case the power goes out.
Which frequently happens in this weather.
'cause it's too cute to be a shed.
Snow on the roof - and I don't mean gray hair!

Southern Style - which means there's a frosting of ice on top.
Yep, the silent snow of last night has become the gentle tinkling sound of ice today,
and it's still falling.
Better go drag out the Scrabble, Dominos and Sequence.
And keep our fingers crossed for power!
Wishing you a warm fire, cookies in the oven, a cup of hot tea, and Sunshine!
Blessings,
Linda
p.s. It sure is pretty (or "purdy" as we jokingly say in the south!)

Everything is so beautiful!!! I'm loving it and enjoying a pajama day!!
We are in the same boat here in Charlotte! Your home does look gorgeous all decked with snow! My husband went to work for awhile this morning and my daughter has to drive a ways to go to work this afternoon. I'm hoping that my husband makes it home in time to drive her to work and hopefully she will stay overnight because she works tomorrow too.(she works at a hotel)
I can't believe you trudged out in the snow to take that photo because the snow looks deep! It was worth it, though!
Isn't it beautiful, Linda? I love it! Now...we just can't lose power...The Bachelor is on tonight! (Did I just say that out loud? lol) Happy snow day!...hugs...Debbie
Yes, we (in Colorado) laugh at the south's snow; but we are thankful we have thousands of snow plows, etc. We have had lots of snow and below zero temperatures in the last 48 hours, but the roads are open and the sun is shining!! May you dig out soon. Sally
It really is beautiful. We've not received a lick of snow, just very cold rain. I could definitely use a snow day. And I HATE snow LOL. Enjoy, and I hope your power stays on. Kat
Great shots, Linda. You are brave to go out. It is pouring freezing rain here and the thought of putting all those clothes on. Yuck. Your house is so pretty in the snow. Yep, my husband the banker is home today.
Wow, Linda! It is so purdy! :)
How beautiful it all is and I hope your power does stay on!! Be safe, stay warm and stay inside! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Your snowy pictures are beautiful! And in the south, too!
Enjoy the snow! Hope your power stays on!
I know it might sound silly, because we get pretty good snows here, but J and I truly enjoy each and every one of our snows. Especially now that we don't have to dig out and go to work. We had supper in the hearthroom tonight, looking out at the snow falling.
We also stocked up on hearty foods and there is wood on the porch for cooking in the fireplace...just in case the power goes out.:-)
Beautiful photos, Linda.
Linda,
Y'all really got a boatload of SNOW...it's always soooo PRETTY! Thanks for coming by and I hope your son and grandkids had a blast rolling their yard...I sure had a good time rolling mine...IT"S SOOOO GREAT TO BE AN AUBURN TIGER!!!!
Blessings,
Linda
Looks like you're ready to spend a long winters night in. Hope it doesn't last long. Stay safe and warm.
ooo, brrrrr...this looks so so cold. It is cold out here in West Texas but, as yet, no snow. :))
With your sweet attitude, I can see that this cold snowy weather isn't going to bother you....that's great!!
I hope you've been able to get out! We got snow in my area too but I'm in the Midwest so it's to be expected. Sounds like you had a good game plan for keeping busy while you were indoors.
Jane
What a truly gorgeous winter wonderland.
So pretty! I do hope you are thawing out now!
Oh your house is so pretty all dressed up in winter white ;) And doesn't everything (including the trees & shrubs) just look so lovely coated in that fresh crisp white? Your pictures are so nice I love the icicle one on the angle. We got your storm a day or so later but were just completely dumped on and we're usually prepared up here in MA. Unfortunately our snowblower broke and we have like 180' of driveway in total that needed shoveling by hand and there was I'm sure 30 inches of it and it was heavy... I feel brittle and broken all over still today (just today it took my whole morning to shovel out the mailbox after no mail delivery for 3 days). You did the right things, board games, making a big pot of something and potatoes, good thinking! We lose power so much in the winter here, I also make sure the kitchen and all dishes are clean, that I have a pot of soapy water next to the sink (so that I can clean counters since we have a well and lose water too when we lose power). Propane in the grill so we could cook or heat up a pot of something on the grill burner...lots of candles... I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted!!!

Oh, wow, that looks so cold. I have to say, you have an amazingly good attitude. I think you are going to have some great family time.

Enjoyed your winter snow photos. I am a transplant from MN to AZ and this is the way I like to enjoy my snow - in pictures in someone else's yard. THANKS for the post.
It is about to snow again in TN!! Just crazy! I can't believe the weather this winter!
