Check out this adorable sign made with a GW frame, backed with burlap and white paper, glass and HobLob vinyl letters half price! Cute!
The mantel is almost entirely composed of GW bargain remakes.
A stained GW candlestick is painted white and ball fringe is added to the candle.

Another GW candlestick is painted Heirloom White and grouped with a GW fleur de lis and a GW topiary - Daughter yanked all the greenery off that thing, added some bows, and look how cute the bones are!
And now for the shocker.....my non-blue daughter painted her kitchen blue.....er, well, it's Benj. Moore Wedgewood Gray - a soothing color that pairs well with crisp white, as well as black, and touches of red. You just don't understand....this is a girl who loves green, gold, and red. I am still scratching my head......what happened? Who is she? Whaaaaat????????? But I.LOVE.IT!
Come along on a tour.......

She painted the natural wood island in the background a light color, along with a pair of GW wooden candlesticks on the bar. The Southern Living metal basket was a GW gift from me at Christmas (gave one to daughter-in-law, too, and found one for Debbie @Confessions of a Plate Addict). Why do people give that thing away??

The bay windows in the eating area looked a little bare, so......

She added some of the popular vinyl lettering above one window.......

Got some white plates and platters out of the cabinets for some other windows (sorry about the lighting....the sun was in the wrong place....or was the photographer in the wrong place?)

How cute is this former GW tarnished brass platter....now sprayed Blossom White with vinyl lettering ! Looks like a fish platter!

Love the former GW silver platter above the basket - now spray painted....along with the HobLob 1/2 price painted letter. The window treatment went with the former color of the kitchen - green - but seems to work well with the blue, too.

And now for a beautifully set table with the GW spray painted thingey in the center, tied with jute twine. I just love this room.....makes me want to use this color somewhere in my house!!!!

Linda, that color looks great in her kitchen. I was always a blue person and then started changing to greens, reds and yellows so it is o.k. for her to change to blue. Love your mantel, too.
I'd say you raised her right. Everything is so pretty and I love the GW makeovers.

Hello Linda...
Wowzer...your daughter has impeccible taste! I love her design style!!! I just giggled, the main living area in my home is all done in gold, greens, and red as well! But...after seeing that gorgeous Wedgewood gray...it makes me want to paint as well! It looks absolutley fabulous in her kitchen...and you're right...it's sooo pretty paired with the white! This really is a fabulous post...just goes to show you that you can decorate a home very inexpensively...but coming out looking like a million bucks!!! I just adore all of the GW treasure finds...and her transformation of them! Love, love, LOVE her mantelscape!!! Ohhh...you'll have to tell your daughter that I thoroughly enjoyed her beautiful home! Thank you for sharing it with us, my friend!!!
Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design
She has such a lovely home! I love it when so many things are from thrift stores! It just shows that with some spray paint and imagination you can have a stunning home without spending a bundle!
Manuela
Your daughters home is lovely! She has a great eye for design.
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you on your questions. My dining room is painted Behr's Caraway green and the wainscot below is painted white. I do collect blue and white transferware and they are displayed on the dining room wall. The kitchen chairs are a distressed black. I hope this helps and again I am sorry for the delay in responding.
Hugs, Sherry
Lovely! I, too, have that color in a few of our rooms and it looks just glorious in the sun and in the shade! This space just proves that you don't have to spend alot to have your home look rich. Wonderful job!
Hugs ~ Angie
Had to laugh! I am a red green gal too and dear daughter is a blue grey lavender one. GO figure!
That said, your daughter's kitchen looks GOOD! Mine just painted hers blue too. It is different but my mom, her beloved grandma had a blue kitchen too. Funny how she is tending toward Mom's colors and I kind of steer away form them. Homage I think and a bit of independence. :)
